Weekly Spotlight Artist: Moon Mullican
"Born as Aubrey Wilson Mullican in 1909, he started playing country and western music ever since he was 16 years old. Later, he would also play jazz, rock and roll and blues. His music was influenced by then popular blues and country artists like Bessie Smith, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Leroy Carr and in turn influenced artists Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley, Hank Snow and many more. His famous songs include "I'll Sail My Ship Alone", "Seven Nights to Rock", "New Pretty Blond" and "There's a Chill on the Hill Tonight" which have all topped the US Country Music Charts at the times of their release."
